Indigenous Studies I - INST 1000

This course introduces students to the Indigenous Peoples of Canada in both a historical and present-day context. Students will examine how the historic past of Indigenous Peoples brings us to present-day circumstances and the ongoing issues faced by Indigenous Peoples in Canada, and how this knowledge can help Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians to become good neighbours.

Note: Restricted to Disability Studies, Indigenous Studies, Justice, Open Studies, Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Arts and Sciences, Child and Youth Care


This course is delivered in a classroom setting with face-to-face instruction at regularly scheduled times.
