From upgrading to starting your career
At our Wetaskiwin campus, you can build upon your career. Start by upgrading or completing high school courses you need to enter your program. Then receive job-ready training as you complete your Health Care Aide certificate or Practical Nurse diploma.
In person, online real-time and online anytime
Upgrade or complete your high school courses at our Wetaskiwin campus. This offering is taught by dedicated and committed teachers. Receive more one-on-one assistance and support than you would in an online or larger classroom setting.

Online with in-person labs
Make caring your career and graduate in only 12 months. During this online program, you can study from the comfort of your home while receiving hands-on training in our health care aide lab—conveniently located in our Wetaskiwin campus.
Once you graduate, you can find employment working in retirement homes, continuing care facilities, hospitals, and more.

In person or online with in-person labs
Practical Nurses are essential to Alberta’s health care system. Our popular and highly recognized Practical Nurse diploma prepares you for a rewarding career providing quality care to patients. Gain hands-on training through labs and graduate with 680 hours (approximately four months) of work experience through clinical placements.
In person
Designed for adults with mild developmental disabilities, our Transitions to Employment program provides essential employment preparation training to improve skills and increase confidence. Students graduate with 450 hours (almost three months) of work experience and can complete the program in only 10 months.

Removing barriers for Indigenous students
When you first walk into our Wetaskiwin campus, you might notice the sign that reads “Tatawâw.” This is a Cree word that means you are welcome, there is room for everyone.
We are committed to creating a safe place of learning, growth, and inclusion for all students while addressing some of the common barriers many Indigenous students experience, such as:
- Waiving application fees and tuition deposits for Indigenous students
- Having an onsite Elder available for one-on-one counselling, ceremonies, and cultural guidance
- Creating a dedicated, on-campus smudging area for students to use at any time during operational hours
I feel more supported here than in other schools I have been to. I also like the connection I have with the Elder here on campus since I met with her a few times, and she supported me culturally and emotionally.
