Settlement Studies Field Experience II Seminar - SETT 2020

The Settlement Studies Field Experience II Seminar will focus on emerging trends in the design and delivery of settlement work. Students will be introduced to the logic model, and how it is used by Settlement Workers to develop action plans to assist newcomers along the Settlement Continuum. Different approaches to settlement work will also be explored. Students will be introduced to avenues of funding that may be accessed by community agencies that provide settlement supports to newcomers.

Note: Prerequisites: COMM 1001, COMM 1007, COMP 1016, DISB 1002, COSW 1005, SETT 1000, SETT 1010, SETT 1020, SETT 1025, SETT 1030 and SETT 1040, or completion of COSW 1200, or permission from SDS program. Co-requisite: SETT 2025 Restricted to SSD


This course is delivered in a classroom setting with face-to-face instruction at regularly scheduled times.
