What to expect from the program

The Digital Information Careers program will provide core employability and technical skills, such as communication, collaboration, and adaptability. Students will become adept at digital tasks using a range of systems, software and platforms common in the digital economy.  

The specialization in Fundamentals of Data Analytics and Business Intelligence focuses on data processing training. Students gain transferable digital skills including data entry, data transformation, data modelling, and data visualizations.  

Graduate with experience

200 hours of work integrated learning (WIL) will be completed in the Edmonton region. Potential opportunities for remote or flexible work placements available. 

During the WIL component students will complete a minimum of 25 hours per week, with opportunities to accelerate this to up to 40 hours per week. 

Students will have ongoing support from a supervisor and mentor at the jobsite and will also have additional employment support from a Career Coach and Accessibility Advisor. 

Learning Pathways

We offer the program in specialized cohorts so our students can find the path that best suits their learning needs. Each stream will use unique approaches to meet the same program learning outcomes. We acknowledge that there will be students who intersect these, and we can work with these students to select the cohort that’s right for them.

Neurodivergent stream

In-person

Students experience the program content in intentionally designed ways that support neurodiverse education. Classroom and content design consider sensory and processing needs, learning materials incorporate best practices for neurodiverse students, and career coaching is geared to the unique needs of the group.

Open stream

Online real time

With flexible online delivery and inclusive entry requirements, the open stream pathway offers a wide population of students an accessible route to a high-demand career in the digital economy.
