Engineering University Transfer Certificate

Laddering opportunities

This program has been intentionally developed as a bridging program to provide a solid foundation to further education.

The primary laddering destination is the University of Alberta Engineering Program (Second Year), or secondarily, the University of Alberta’s Bachelor of Science program (see below for transfer information and grade point average requirements).

Laddering within the NorQuest environment: Students who complete the program with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA may receive transfer credit towards the Arts & Sciences Diploma or Machine Learning Analyst.

Transferability

As the Engineering University Transfer Certificate program is a university transfer program, its architecture is built around the transfer to the University of Alberta Engineering Year Two. All courses in the program will have official transfer status through ACAT to the University of Alberta

Students must present at least an average of 2.5 GPA across the Fall and Winter terms, which will allow them a guaranteed transfer to Year two of Engineering at the University of Alberta.

Students who complete the program but achieve a GPA of 2.0 to 2.4 may be able to transfer to the University of Alberta Bachelor of Science Program.

Students who do not meet the required minimum GPA of 2.5 to transfer to the U of A but have obtained a minimum GPA of 2.0, may transfer to:

  • NorQuest College’s Arts and Science Diploma with advanced standing awarded for up to 10 courses.
  • NorQuest’s Machine Learning Analyst Diploma with advanced standing awarded for up to five courses.

These pathways are also available to students who have achieved the minimum required GPA of 2.5 to transfer to the U of A but have decided to pursue other educational pathways.
