What to expect from the program
The Engineering University Transfer program provides students interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree with the opportunity to complete the foundational/qualifying year (the equivalent of 40.6 credits) at NorQuest College.
Students who successfully complete the certificate with a minimum 2.5 GPA are guaranteed direct transfer and placement in the second year of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering program at the University of Alberta.
NorQuest College offers prospective Engineering students an engaging environment with non-competitive entry, smaller class sizes, personalized study plans, and accessible learning pathways designed to support students throughout the program from application through completion.
What you’ll learn

Career opportunities
Students who transfer directly into the second year of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering program at the University of Alberta can ultimately pursue careers in a wide variety of engineering fields, including: biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, materials, mechanical, mining, petroleum, and software engineering, as well as nanoscale system design, nanoengineering, and engineering physics.
Successful completion of the Engineering certificate program also enables students to transfer with partial credit to other engineering-adjacent programs at post-secondary institutions across Alberta, and to pursue entry-level positions in technical fields.
