Let’s make sure you will be able to graduate and attend the Convocation ceremony for your program. You start the process, and we work on it together.
1. Ask us to check your Academic Record
If you will complete all your certificate or diploma requirements before August 31, 2025, you are eligible to graduate and attend Convocation. Some students will attend the Convocation ceremony before they have completed their program. If you do not want to attend the ceremonies, you still need to complete this step so we know you want your certificate or diploma.
Programs that start after February 23, 2025 will have this process completed by the Office of the Registrar.
The deadline to complete the “Apply for Graduation” process is February 23, 2025. We are not able to extend this deadline.
Your tasks:
- Log in to your MyQuest account.
- Choose "Apply for Graduation".
- Submit your application before February 23, 2025. (we cannot accept late applications)
- Update your address in MyQuest (and keep it current).
- Update your preferred name in MyQuest (we will use your preferred name for the grad list).
2. The Office of the Registrar reviews your record:
After you submit your application, the Office of the Registrar will assess your courses to determine whether you have met the program requirements to receive your credential. We will email your MyMail address about the status of your application (and advise you of any further action needed). If you have not received a response within three weeks of your application, mail enrolment@norquest.ca from your MyMail account.
Our tasks:
- Review your academic record (the courses that you have completed and the ones you will complete before August 31, 2025).
- Send an email to your MyMail address to update you.
You can use the email to invite your international guests.
3. The Office of the Registrar publishes a list of potential graduates
After all students have completed the “Apply for Graduation” process and the Office of the Registrar has reviewed your academic record a list of all graduates and potential graduates is generated. This will be published middle to late March.
Our task:
- Publish the 2024-2025 Convocation list.
Your tasks:
- Review the list and check for your name.
- If any corrections are needed email enrolment@norquest.ca
4. You are invited to attend the Convocation ceremony
If you are on track to graduate, we will email the Convocation registration package to your MyMail account in April.
The email includes a link to the Gaspard website (Build-a-Grad) where you rent your gown. Once your order has been processed and paid, you are registered to attend Convocation!
We will also provide you with a link to order your guest tickets. If you are inviting guests from outside Canada, there is a process that you need to complete.
5. You pick up your gown and package
Check the gown pick-up information page for more details.
Your tasks:
- Add the gown pick-up dates to your calendar.
- Confirm your mailing address in MyQuest.
A few important reminders for you
- To receive your credential within one month of the end of your last term of study (based on successful completion of your program), your deadline to apply to graduate is February 23, 2025.
- Your application to graduate is limited to the academic year in which you apply. If you are not successful in achieving your credential, you must apply to graduate again when eligible.
- We will mail your parchment to the address on your student record. It is up to you to make sure your address is up to date in your MyQuest account. A digital parchment will also be automatically sent to you and accessible through MyCreds.
- We will use your preferred name in the 2024-2025 Convocation list and to announce you at Convocation. Your legal name will be used on your credential.

A credential for a program is conferred upon a student once, even if the student completes the program requirements more than one time. The credential will be notated on the official transcript as the earliest program completion only.
