How To Register in Classes

For programs not available for online registration:

  • If you are in a full-time in-person program, you will be enrolled automatically by NorQuest College up to three months before classes begin. You will receive email confirmation once you have been enrolled.
  • If you are part-time or online in these programs, you must contact enrolment@norquest.ca prior to any applicable deadlines to enrol.

Before you register

  • Become familiar with MyQuest, NorQuest’s student information system.
    • After you apply, you will receive a letter with your user ID, password, and instructions for signing in to MyQuest.
    • For returning students, if you have forgotten your user ID or password, contact Computer Commons.
  • Check the time of your enrolment appointment.
    • You will be assigned an enrolment appointment – an exact date and time you can begin to register. Your enrolment appointment will be posted in your Student Center under Enrolment Dates.
  • Choose your courses. Use your program’s course listings to plan your courses each term. If you need additional support, contact a student navigator.
    • Review the course description to identify pre-requisites and co-requisites.
  • Access your Academic Advisement Report to assist in course planning. The Academic Advisement Report is a status report and planning tool will assist you in determining your progress towards program completion. It is not intended as a substitute for consultation with your student navigator.

Steps to register

The Course Listings page of your program outlines its structure by term and year. It shows the preferred path to completing the program as a full-time student.

  1. Review your program requirements: You can search for classes, build your course schedule in MyPlanner, and add preferred courses to your shopping cart. You will not be able to register until on or after our date and time.
  2. Request permission numbers: Permission numbers allow you to register in certain sections of a course through MyQuest. You may require a permission number if you do not meet the requirements for a course or a course required departmental permission to register. Your program area will determine if you are eligible for a permission number. Contact your program area to submit a request.
  3. Check your enrolment appointment time: Your enrolment appointment is a specific date and time when you will have access to course registration. Once your enrolment appointment opens, you can register in classes anytime on or after this date, up to the registration deadline. Check your Student Center in MyQuest for your enrolment appointment time. Register on time for your best course selection!

  4. Register for classes: Log into MyQuest. From the main menu, choose Self Service > Student Center > Academics > Enrolment to add or drop classes. This user guide provides step-by-step instructions.
  5. Review your enrolment and account summary: See your Student Center to review class schedule, start and end dates, campus, and tuition and fees.
  6. Pay your tuition and fees: Tuition and fees are due of the first day of the term. You can find the amount owning for tuition and fees in MyQuest under Campus Finances > Account Inquiry.
