High school equivalency challenge exams

The Testing Centre has moved online.

All high school equivalency challenge exams are suspended indefinitely. If you are a currently enrolled NorQuest student looking to write a challenge exam to get into a post-secondary program, contact your student navigator to discuss your options.

We offer exams Monday through Friday, based on availability. You can request a specific date on your registration form. The Testing Centre will contact you to confirm the date or reschedule the exam for another date.

How to register for a high school equivalency exam

  1. Download and complete the challenge exam registration form,
  2. Email the completed registration form to testing@norquest.ca.
  3. The Testing Centre will contact you to pay and to confirm or change the requested exam date.
    • By phone: we accept Visa or MasterCard only.
    • In person: we accept Visa, MasterCard, debit, cash, money order, or certified cheque (no personal cheques).

High school equivalency challenge exam fee

  • $277.50 for domestic students
  • $832.50 for international students

You can request an official transcript when you register for your exam. NorQuest will send it directly to the institution you indicate on your registration form.

Getting your results

We will email the results of your NorQuest high school equivalency challenge exam to the email address on your registration form.

Transcripts

If you ordered transcripts when you registered for your exam, we will send them within three business days after we post your final grade. You can order more copies of your transcript. Submit the Request for transcript form to the Office of the Registrar.

Didn’t get the grade you needed?

Consider the following options to improve your grade.

  • Retake your course. See Academic Upgrading.
  • Consider using a study guide. "The Key: (desired course), Diploma Study Guide" is available at local bookstores or online at Castle Rock Research.
  • Take a diploma preparation/review course, available at various learning providers.
