Recognize the contributions and celebrate the success of NorQuest Alumni

Each day, NorQuest graduates are making an impact in their communities and workplaces. They are on a continuous quest to change lives for the better. Through these awards, we celebrate their incredible accomplishments and recognize their abilities to lead and contribute.

Award categories

Our awards represent the commitment to transformation, courageous actions, and inspiring resilience NorQuest grads display. Explore our different award options, and nominate a NorQuest alumni who embodies these qualities.

Who is eligible for nomination?

  • Must have completed a program at NorQuest College (includes all credit programs, Academic Upgrading, and LINC) 
  • Current members of the Alumni Committee are not eligible for nomination
  • Alumni currently holding a public office are not eligible for nomination
  • Nominations for the Difference Maker award, must be a current NorQuest Staff member
  • Current and past NorQuest staff, that are also NorQuest alumni are eligible for nomination in any category
  • Nominees must have the ability to receive their award at the NorQuest Edmonton campus on April 10, 2025

How will our winners be celebrated? 

  • Photo shoot and video interview
  • Social media story
  • Profile added to the alumni website
  • Presentation of a physical award at the Award ceremony in April 2024

How do I nominate someone?

  1. Anyone can submit a nomination. You do not have to be a NorQuest graduate to nominate an alumni
  2. Open the nomination form for your preferred award category
  3. Fill in each section to the best of your ability
  4. Submit your nomination before 4:00 pm on December 13, 2024

All nominators will be asked to provide the following: 

  • bio of their nominee detailing their professional accomplishments
  • volunteer experience and roles
  • their impact in community
  • a detailed explanation of why they are nominating the alumni
  • answer a question specific to the category being nominated for

While information on their time at NorQuest as a student is great for context, we ask the nominations to focus on achievements and accomplishments completed after their time at the college. Ensure you read the award category and criteria thoroughly before writing your nomination and provide clear alignment between the nomination and the award description. 

What makes a strong nomination? 

The more detail, the better. Nominations that include personal stories, of impact, achievements and ways alumni are making a difference in their communities, provide our reviewers with more insight into the nominee, and how they meet the award criteria. Outline specific examples, include volunteer roles, speak with other people who know the nominee and get their input, and ensure a well-rounded nomination. 

Ensure you focus on 3 main areas: 

  • providing a detailed bio,
  • clearly answering the award specific question, and
  • providing direct alignment to the award criteria.
