Connect with your culture in this supportive and safe circle guided by Kimwan, NorQuest’s Indigenous Cultural Advisor

Are you looking for a way to connect with your culture, meet other students, and learn about support systems available to you? NorQuest’s Indigenous Women’s Circle is open to all Indigenous students who identify as women.

What to expect

Within this circle, you can share your educational successes, speak about the challenges you’re facing, and solve problems together.

This event will also include:

  • The opportunity to gain traditional teachings and guidance from a Cultural Advisor
  • Guest speakers who will provide information on support systems available for Indigenous women
  • Free snacks and beverages

You are welcome to come and go at any time during the event.

Is this event specifically for Indigenous women?

Yes, this event is only available for Indigenous students who self-identify as women. This is an opportunity for women to gather together in a supportive environment with community members who understand their challenges and can offer support.

Miyo-pimatisiwin is open for all Indigenous and non-Indigenous students who would like to learn more about traditional teachings and ways of being. To learn more about the other support services and events available, please visit this page.

How do I find Miyo-pimatisiwin

Miyo-pimatisiwin is located on the first floor of the Singhmar Centre for Learning in room 1-151 near the Southeast entrance.

When entering through the main entrance in Imagine Hall, turn left into the Singhmar Centre for Learning, pass the security desk, and turn right at the first hallway. Miyo-pimatisiwin is located at the end of the hallway, past the Centre for Growth and Harmony.
